Bennie didn’t think winning a 3‑month scholarship to a small strength gym would change much, she just hoped it might help her “get back on track.” Instead, she found something completely different from every gym experience she’d had before: tiny classes where coaches actually watched her form, workouts tailored to her body, real nutrition guidance, and a community that made her feel genuinely seen and supported. In her own words below, Bennie shares how those 90 days at Durable Human Gym became one of the best things that’s happened to her in a long time—and why she decided she’s not leaving anytime soon.
This is her story:
I was selected for a 3-month scholarship at Durable Human Gym, and honestly it ended up being one of the best things that has happened for me in a long time.
When I applied, I don’t even remember exactly what I wrote about why I wanted it. I just remember hoping I would be chosen. When I found out I felt really grateful. Now after going through the program, I understand even more how special this place is.
The classes are small, which makes such a huge difference. You’re not just another person in a crowded gym. The trainers actually pay attention to you, help you adjust movements, and meet you where you are physically. Every workout feels personalized and supportive.
I committed to three workouts a week, and each class had knowledgeable trainers guiding us. They offer both static classes and dynamic classes using kettlebells, which kept things interesting and challenging in a really good way.
One of the benefits was also having access to a nutritionist for three months. Learning about macros and using the InBody machine helped me understand my body in a way I never had before.

But what really makes this gym different is the environment. It’s supportive, welcoming, and full of people who genuinely want to see you succeed. You can tell the trainers are educated, passionate, and truly care about helping people become stronger and healthier.
This experience has been life changing for me, and it’s something I’m going to continue with. I’m really grateful I was chosen for the scholarship because it introduced me to a place that I now plan to keep coming back to.
If you’re looking for a gym where you feel supported, guided, and challenged in the best way possible, Durable Human Gym is truly something special!
